My long lost bird,

Empty cage,

Is your vicious soul

Still burning in rage?

If you only knew,

This life: a trial,

Would you hurt me less

Than die in exile?

Now you stand,

Your record flawed,

What will you say,

When you face your God?

Alas to Dust,

When we return,

While some rejoice,

Should I watch you burn?

A blessing or a curse,

To love so deep.

Tell me what’s worse,

Before I sleep.

My sweetest love

Define my curse,

To drown beneath the waves

Or die from the thirst.
